In its ongoing crackdown on corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) today arrested Rajwant Kaur, Reader to DDPO Jalandhar. She demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000/- from a complainant resident of village Dhadda, district Jalandhar.

Disclosing this a spokesperson of VB said that an enquiry was conducted of a complaint submitted by complainant, Sarpanch of village Dhadda. The enquiry established that the Dharamshala constructed in village Dhadda had been taken into possession by the Balmik Committee, following which the Gram Panchayat filed a case before the DDPO.
