The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 12:36 p.m. in Wantagh. According to detectives, a 57-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Sunrise Highway just east of Oakland Avenue when he was struck by a 2022 Kenworth 18-wheel truck. The male victim suffered severe body trauma and was transported by a Wantagh Fire Department Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is in stable condition. The operator of the 18-wheel truck remained at scene. The investigation is ongoing.
