An investigation has been launched after the death of a prisoner serving a life sentence for murder at HMP Styal.
Lisa Clarke, who was 53, was jailed by a judge for life in 2013 over the brutal torture and murder of a former soldier in Yardley, Birmingham.
She was ordered to serve a minimum sentence of 23 years behind bars.
The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman, an independent watchdog, confirmed Clake died on October 26 this year while an inmate at the women-only prison in Wilmslow , Cheshire.

An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned at Warrington Coroner's Court on Wednesday. Records show she died in hospital in Greater Manchester.
