GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Jimmy Anderson, an elderly former taekwondo instructor facing child sexual abuse charges in multiple Upstate counties, appeared in court on Friday morning.

The 75-year-old is accused of sexually abusing victims during taekwondo lessons dating back to the 1980s in both Greenville and Spartanburg counties. He is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and multiple counts of lewd act on a minor.

Anderson previously owned taekwondo studios in Greer, located on South Buncombe Road, West Poinsett Street, and West Wade Hampton Boulevard.

He has been held in the Greenville County Detention Center since his arrest in June.

On Friday, Anderson’s legal defense asked a judge to consider releasing him on bond due to his age and multiple health issues.
