GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KOLN) - Since the 1880s, the Hedde Building has served the community of Grand Island. When the structure began to deteriorate, Amos Anson transformed the building into a hub where Grand Island community members can work and live.

“I’m a huge fan of making beautiful spaces.”

He calls himself an “entrepreneur by trade.”

“I wanted to create a space where people could try their ideas,” said Anson, president of Empire Development . “So this is a co-working space, but it’s a place where an entrepreneur can see if their idea is great or not great.”

Anson knows this experience firsthand. He started his career in construction and his business journey at age 19.
