A Winnipeg couple have pleaded guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty after a police investigation last year unearthed allegations they made videos of animals being tortured and killed and sold them on the dark web.
Irene Lima and Chad Kabecz were arrested and charged with several animal cruelty offences in October 2024, after Manitoba's provincial veterinarian got a tip from a citizen about videos and photos of animal torture.
