The Transportation Safety Board is offering more information surrounding a helicopter crash near Burgeo on Wednesday.
All four occupants – a pilot and three passengers – escaped unharmed despite the damage caused to the privately-owned helicopter.
The TSB says the Robinson R44 II was returning from a hunting trip and was approaching to land about 23 nautical miles northeast of Burgeo when the pilot suddenly experienced a loss of control at low altitude, and crashed into a bog.
The TSB says the occurrence has been recorded as a Class 5, meaning that it will be limited to gathering data which will be held for statistical reporting and future analysis.
