Pupils were forced to flee from a burning school bus this afternoon on a busy Scots road.
Emergency crews rushed to Blackness Road just outside Linlithgow, near its junction with Springfield Road, at 12.40pm today.
They had received reports that a bus carrying schoolchildren from Linlithgow Academy had gone up in flames.
Two fire appliances raced to the scene, while police closed the road. After the inferno was extinguished, the E&M Horsburgh bus was seen being recovered from the scene at around 2.45pm.
Images show the double-decker vehicle with its back badly burned by the flames and windows gone. Its lower deck also appears to be damaged, with parts of the engine visible.
