The Eastern District Major Crime Squad took over the investigation and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded and transported the remains to further examine them.
While conducting an expanded search, divers found additional human remains and a submerged vehicle.
Detectives also found parking passes, a name tag and a license plate linking the vehicle, a 1996 Mazda B2300 pickup, to a missing person case.
