MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A judge has denied Austin Drummond’s appeal to reverse the decision for him to be moved out of state prison ahead of his trial for quadruple murder. Drummond, who is accused of killing four family members in Lake County , will be moved to a state prison within the Tennessee Department of Corrections until his trial on May 7, 2026.
Judge Mark Hayes cited Drummond’s “significant behavioral and security risk” due to his previous actions while in prison . Assistant District Attorney Andrew Hayes stated that Drummond had disciplinary issues, including possession of Suboxone strips, and covering his cell door with paper and feces.
