U.S. Representative Chip Roy has said he intends to bring in legislation that would "freeze immigration entirely" until the country sorts out what he described was a "cultural problem."

The representative discussed the legislation on conservative commentator Benny Johnson's podcast The Benny Show on Wednesday , saying it would halt all immigration, including ending H-1B visas, until "certain objectives" are achieved.

"We're dealing with a cultural problem of who we are as Americans," he said.
