HERRIN, Ill. (KFVS) - A man is facing multiple charges in southern Illinois following a child sexual assault investigation.

According to Herrin police, Charles Maynard, 61, was arrested on Thursday, November 13 on three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and three counts of grooming.

He is currently being held at the Williamson County Jail.

Police say the Williamson-Franklin County Child Advocacy Center, Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office and DCFS assisted with the case.
