MANCHESTER, N.H. —
A man was seriously injured when he fell from the roof of a moving bus Friday morning on Interstate 95 in Kittery, police said.
Maine State Police said Derrick McDuffy, 35, of New York, opened the emergency access roof hatch of a Concord Coach Lines bus and climbed onto the roof of the bus while it was moving.
After the bus driver realized what was happening, the driver started slowing down and attempted to pull over. McDuffy fell from the roof to roadway, landing on the shoulder of the interstate, police said.
McDuffy was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening.
