Even with the girls volleyball season moving to the Denver Coliseum for the state tournament, and the basketball season a few weeks from starting, Windsor High School’s Reg Figal Gymnasium was a busy and festive place Monday.

The Wizards hosted their annual national letter of intent signing ceremony with 10 Windsor senior athletes finalizing their commitments to play college athletics next school year.

Deacon Schmitt is set for Division I Southeastern Conference football powerhouse the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. Schmitt, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman, is currently leading the Wizards (10-0) into the Class 3A playoffs, as they’ll face Severance (4-6) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
