The Chicago Bears might be getting a major boost for their playoff stretch run.
All-Pro cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who has missed most of this season to this point due to a groin injury, is reportedly returning to practice today, officially opening his 21-day window to return from injured reserve.
Head coach Ben Johnson had hinted Thursday at his star cornerback’s return to the practice field “in the near future.” Apparently, that meant “immediately.”
Johnson, who has struggled with multiple groin issues dating back to training camp this summer, hasn’t played since Week 2. The Bears placed Johnson on injured reserve for the injury he suffered in that loss against the Detroit Lions, and Johnson had core muscle surgery to repair the damage with hopes that he could eventually come back.
