AKRON, Ohio — Dareeque Dorman, the Akron man found guilty in the murder of Gregory McMullen , learned his fate on Friday.

According to Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich, the 37-year-old was sentenced to life in prison for the , which happened inside a residence on Lindsay Avenue.

Dorman will be eligible for parole after 24 years.

“This case is a reminder of how quickly violence can change lives. Gregory was deeply loved, and while no outcome can undo that loss, we hope today offers his family and friends some peace as they begin to heal,” said Kolkovich.

Previously, in October, Kolkovich announced that Dorman was convicted by a jury of the following charges:

One count of murder

Two counts of felonious assault

One count of tampering with evidence
