BOSTON —
A man who was previously responsible for the safety of Boston Public School buses was arrested on Friday for allegedly soliciting bribes from vendors who worked on the buses in the bus yards.
Michael Muller, 59, of Millbury, is charged with five counts of soliciting and accepting bribes as an agent of BPS, five counts of conspiring to commit bribery, five counts of conspiring to commit honest services mail fraud and four counts of extortion.
He will appear in federal court in Boston around 2:30 p.m.
According to federal court documents, Muller worked for an unnamed "Transportation Company," which had a contract with BPS to manage the operations and maintenance of the district's 700 school buses.
