A Jefferson Parish grand jury has handed up an indictment charging a Gretna man with killing his 4-month-old son, court records show.
Nicholas Pogozelski, 26, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder in the death of Kamari Jones .
Pogozelski called paramedics to his Gretna home on June 17 seeking help for the baby, according to Gretna police. Pogozelski told them Kamari had rolled off an air mattress and hit his head.
The baby was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition with a head injury, according to authorities. Gretna police arrested Pogozelski on June 25 and booked him with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile because of those injuries, authorities said.
