BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — The Blount County District Attorney's Office said a 45-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping a child.

Billy Joe Genaway, 45, was convicted of rape of a child and sentenced Friday, the district attorney's office said.

The conviction stems from an investigation by the Blount County Sheriff's Office in July 2024.

The district attorney's office said Genaway must serve all 25 years of his sentence. When he is released, he will be required to register as a sex offender and be supervised for the remainder of his life.
