DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings goaltender John Gibson practiced Friday and was cleared to play after leaving Thursday’s 6-3 victory over Anaheim due to an upper-body injury.
“Just a couple headshots. Nothing really crazy,” Gibson said. “Felt pretty good today. No worse for wear, so nothing to worry about.”
Coach Todd McLellan confirmed that Gibson is fine but said no decision was made yet on whether he or Cam Talbot will start Saturday at home against the Buffalo Sabres (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).
This is good news for a team that otherwise might have been in a goaltending quandary.
