WHITESIDE COUNTY, Ill. — A man was arrested after making threats to a judge in Whiteside County.

On Oct. 30, the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office started investigating a reported death threat made against a 14th Judicial Circuit judge.

Deputies identified the suspect as 30-year-old Alexander Lopez. Deputies said Lopez tried to buy a handgun at a Whiteside County business earlier that same day, on Oct. 30.

Based on the information gathered by deputies, and more evidence found throughout the day, an arrest warrant was issued for Lopez on Oct. 31 for Threatening a Public Official.

On Nov. 12, Lopez was found and arrested for his warrant. He was taken to Whiteside County Jail.

Lopez appeared in court on Nov. 13 and was ordered a fitness evaluation. He remains in the County Jail pending
