A man has been arrested for allegedly pretending to be an admiral during a remembrance event in Wales .

The imposter was present at the Remembrance Sunday service in Llandudno, Conwy, last Sunday (November 9), where he was captured on camera saluting at the war memorial and laying a wreath.

Investigations by North Wales Live found that the man previously appeared in a Rear Admiral's uniform decorated with medals at Remembrance Sunday ceremonies in Caernarfon, Gwynedd.

The Royal Navy said impersonating a Naval officer was "insulting to veterans", and the apparent act of stolen valour has been blasted by ex-military men online.
