HENNING, Minn. — The Ottertail County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a tractor was struck by a train on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

According to the sheriff’s office, the train was headed east on 290th Street, near the CP Railroad, and was unable to stop when the driver saw the train headed south.

Police say the driver of the tractor, a 67-year-old Henning man, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Perham Health. Crew on the train were uninjured.

The tractor was destroyed in the crash and the train sustained minor damage.

Police say several neighbors responded to the scene to assist with clearing machinery off the railroad tracks.
