Allen Park — One of the Detroit Lions ' preseason darlings, wide receiver Jackson Meeks, is still kicking around in Allen Park, and a recent test of his versatility could help him find the field sooner rather than later.

The Lions have been trying Meeks at tight end out of "necessity" during the last few weeks at practice, and there could be a future for the 6-foot-2, 218-pounder who was undrafted out of Syracuse. He caught 11 passes for 176 yards during four exhibition games, but the Lions' receiver room was too deep to keep him on the 53-man roster out of training camp.
