A chaotic scene unfolded outside an Eastpointe courthouse on Friday morning after a relative of a local McDonald’s manager fatally stabbed earlier this year tried to bring a knife inside the court.

The arrest happened after Macomb County prosecutors played surveillance footage of Jennifer Harris allegedly being stabbed in July by Afeni Muhummad at a McDonald’s where the two worked. The footage was played as part of Muhummad’s preliminary exam at Eastpointe’s 38th District Court on Nine Mile to determine if there’s enough evidence for her to stand trial.
