WASHINGTON — DC Police continue to investigate after a federal officer fired their gun at a driver who fled a traffic stop Thursday afternoon. According to police, the Homeland Security investigator, who was in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Minnesota Avenue, Southeast as part of President Donald Trump's DC Safe and Beautiful task force saw the driver make a traffic violation.
Members of the task force tried to stop the driver, but the driver did not pull over and a pursuit began. That's when the agent fired their weapon in the 3400 block of Benning Road Northeast just before 5 p.m. No injuries were reported and the driver was taken into custody without incident.
