Penn State lost its third commitment in the past week as 2026 recruiting continues to go awry.

Four-star defensive back David Davis flipped his commitment to North Carolina on Thursday . He joins three-star defensive lineman Isaac Chukwurah (Miami) and three-star offensive lineman Jack Fuchs (Northwestern) as departures this week.

From Imani Christian Academy in Pittsburgh, Davis ranks as the No. 382 player in this cycle and No. 11 in Pennsylvania, according to the 247Sports Composite . He had been committed to Penn State since March 25.

Davis is now one of 11 players to leave Penn State’s 2026 class after James Franklin’s firing as head coach on Oct. 12. Several of the remaining 14 “commits” have also reopened their recruitments and are looking elsewhere.
