New details have been released after a shooting left a 16-year-old dead in Simpsonville, South Carolina, on Monday.

Around 4:15 a.m. Monday, a 911 call was made regarding a person with at least one gunshot wound at a home on Parkgate Court.

When deputies arrived, they found a 16-year-old dead. The Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Malijah Jai’keem Williams.

On Friday, investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit arrested a 15-year-old juvenile in connection with the death.

According to officials, the 15-year-old was handling a stolen pistol in a reckless manner when the firearm was discharged, striking the victim.
