A corrupt football coach who was banned for life by FIFA for match-fixing has been quietly playing for clubs in suburban Melbourne.
An ABC investigation can reveal Zia Younan, who narrowly avoided jail for his role in a multi-million-dollar international syndicate, has returned to the pitch, playing for three clubs in Melbourne's south-eastern and northern suburbs despite the ban from the sport's world governing body and Football Australia (FA).
The ban, which was first handed down by Australian officials in 2015 and extended worldwide in 2016, forbids Younan from "any football-related activity", including playing, officiating or attending official matches run by bodies affiliated with Football Australia at any level in Australia.
