AVON, Ohio -- Semi-professional soccer is coming to Avon.
The United Soccer League (USL) has announced that Avon will be home to a new USL League Two club in 2026, a semi-professional league of soccer players looking to possibly make it into the professional ranks.
And, as Ohio’s fastest-growing county, Lorain County is primed for a new chapter in its sports and entertainment story, league officials say.
The new club will provide local players with a pathway to develop and showcase their talent on a bigger stage.
Club officials say the team is committed to becoming a true community asset, with plans to partner with local businesses, celebrate regional pride and create a match day experience that reflects the energy and ambition of Lorain County.
