Oregon immigration lawyers suing the federal government are now seeking class action status on behalf of anyone arrested in the state since mid-October for alleged civil immigration violations who has been deprived access to a lawyer and anyone at risk of arrest.

The immigration lawyers this week filed an amended suit and a motion for a preliminary injunction that U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken will hear on Dec. 12. She previously denied a temporary restraining order .

Attorneys with Innovation Law Lab of Portland filed the civil action on behalf of the Portland-based Clear Clinic, a nonprofit that offers free legal advice on immigration matters, and the farmworkers union Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste.

They estimate that more than 300 people in Oregon were detained by ICE
