The UTEP football team's first-ever trip to the state of Missouri, to take on first-year FBS member and Conference USA newcomer Missouri State , looks much tougher now than it did three months ago.

The Bears , picked 11th out of 12 in the preseason media poll (the team picked 12th, Kennesaw State, currently leads the league), come in one game off the CUSA lead with a 4-1 mark and a four-game winning streak.

UTEP enters at 2-7, with a chance to match last season's win total. The Miners are 4 1/2-point road underdogs.
