ROBERTSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Robertson County judge has ruled that 36-year-old Torilena Fields is competent to stand trial in the disturbing 2024 murder case involving the death of her mother, according to court officials.
Fields is scheduled to return to court on December 8 at 9 a.m. for further pre-trial proceedings.
According to Kentucky State Police, Fields was charged in the October 2024 killing of her mother, 59-year-old Trudy Fields. Investigators say the case began when a property worker arrived at a home on Brierly Ridge Road and found drag marks, blood-stained mattresses, and what appeared to be human remains in the backyard.
Troopers later discovered additional remains inside the residence, including body parts found in a pot inside the oven. Fields was arrested
