LANE COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - Two men were arrested in Lane County on Tuesday and charged with transporting a massive amount of meth.
Court documents show an Oregon State Police officer with a police dog stopped a pickup truck on Interstate 5 near Cottage Grove as part of an ongoing investigation.
When officers searched the truck, they allegedly found two duffel bags filled with dozens of bags and bindles of a substance that turned out to be meth, weighing about 72 pounds.
The drugs are worth about $50,000 in street value.
Police said they believe the men, identified as 45-year-old Alejandra Diaz-Alcantar and 41-year-old Juan Alberto Alvarado-Gonzalez, were trafficking the drugs from California to Eugene.
The suspects were sent to the Lane County Jail, where they face charges that include
