Detroit – Life in the NHL is hard for a rookie. Look no further than Red Wings defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka.

The 20-year-old scored a goal during Thursday's 6-3 victory over Anaheim but was stapled to the bench the final 15 minutes or so. The Wings were going hard toward a needed victory and coach Todd McLellan didn't like something that had come into Sandin-Pellikka's game.
