Most Cornwall councillors wanted more information before they could comfortably agree to temporarily reduce development charges (DC) in the city.

Deputy CAO and Fire Chief Matthew Stephenson spoke to the report that proposed a two-year temporary reduction of development charges for single- and semi-detached dwellings to a flat rate

of $5,000 beginning on Jan. 1. Other options in the report included council leave those development charges as is, or agree to explore alternative incentives.
