The Boston Red Sox fell short of a championship, but one player who completed the 2025 season with the organization will get a World Series ring.
Boston acquired Dustin May from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a midseason trade, so the starting pitcher will receive a ring after the Dodgers won their second straight championship. That situation evoked mixed emotions in the 28-year-old.
Speaking at Thursday’s MLB Awards red-carpet event, per MassLive’s Christopher Smith , May called it “fun to watch” his old team win it all. Yet he still wishes he could have participated in a Red Sox title run instead.
“I was more sad that they (Red Sox) lost than I was more happy that they (Dodgers) won,” May said.
