Regulations for short-term rental property owners in Galveston are stricter after the city council approved an ordinance Thursday that could result in a revoked license if multiple violations occur at the property.
Galveston’s Short-Term Rental Licensing Board can recommend that a license be revoked if three violations occur at a property within 12 months, according to the ordinance. Violations can be reported through the short-term rental hotline and by internal city departments.
Short-term rental owners are responsible for making sure renters don't violate city or state laws, which can pertain to parking, trash disposal, noise, discharge of firearms, use of fireworks and barking dogs, according to the ordinance. Sign up for the Hello, Houston! d
