Radio 2 host Sara Cox has raised over £7million for Children in Need after taking part in a gruelling 135-mile challenge to help raise funds for the charity. ‌

Visibly emotional at the end of her run, the 50-year-old finished her Great Northern Marathon Challenge this evening, November 14, to the cheers of fans and supporters. ‌

The presenter's challenge to help raise funds for the important charity saw her run, jog and walk through Northumberland, Durham, and Yorkshire, to finally end her journey in Pudsey, Leeds, after five tiring days. ‌

Ahead of the BBC telethon event tonight, Sara has currently pulled in a whopping £7.6million for the charity - with this only expected to rise later into the evening, reports the Mirror.
