INDIANAPOLIS— The Raptors were rightfully proud to have kept their entire coaching staff together this season because the collection of assistants under Darko Rajakovic has blended into an effective, cohesive group.

But there is a slight chance disruption may be coming.

Nothing is done and there are issues still to be resolved but Toronto’s Jama Mahlalela is one of three coaches under consideration for the vacant top job with the WNBA’s New York Liberty.

Marc Stein’s well-respected Substack reported this week, and league sources confirmed for the Star, that Mahlalela is one of the finalists for the job along with Phoenix Mercury assistant Kristi Toliver and former NBA assistant Will Weaver.
