“Ruhullah’scommitted a political suicide”

Srinagar, Nov 14: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, reacting to his party’s defeat in the Budgambypoll, admitted that the result reflected a clear political message. Omar said that despite the NC’s efforts for development and strengthening ties with the government, voters in the constituency “wanted something else.”

Speaking candidly to reporters in Jammu, Omar said the result was disappointing but not entirely unexpected. “We wanted Budgam’s development and people’s betterment, but people wanted something else,” he remarked, adding that NC’s focus on governance, public welfare, and fostering a relationship between Budgam’s people and the government had not resonated with a significant portion of the electorate.
