More casualties expected as ailing Healthscope prepares for sale

If there is one thing Healthscope’s lenders and landlords can agree on, it is that the operator of 37 private hospitals – a vital part of Australia’s health infrastructure – remains on the sick list with many of its hospitals unable to pay their bills in full.

Financial numbers which have surfaced in the media show that 23 of these hospitals with private landlords are losing a collective $100 million a year.
