DES MOINES, Iowa —
For those of us old enough, do you remember back in the 1980s when it seemed you couldn’t swing a resurrected cat without hitting an adaptation of something Stephen King had written? 1983 alone saw Cujo , The Dead Zone and Christine hit cinemas.
The film and TV versions of his works haven’t ever gone away, they just slowed a little for a couple of decades. Over the past decade or so, the undisputed “King of Horror” has seen quite the resurgence. This year, we’ve already seen films versions of The Monkey , The Life of Chuck and The Long Walk , along with the It prequel series Welcome to Derry on HBOMax, all of which are excellent, as well as being drastically different from each other, showcasing King’s amazing range.
