There will be a sense of familiarity in three of the four Virginia High School League field hockey state finals involving teams from Hampton Roads. All of those games are set for Independence High’s stadium in Ashburn.

In the Class 4 match at 10 a.m., Gloucester squares off against Loudoun Valley, the two-time defending champions, who have knocked off the Dukes in each of those tournament runs.

Following up at noon, neighborhood rivals First Colonial and Cox face off in the Class 5 championship game — the two teams have met in seven previous finals, with the Falcons holding a 5-2 advantage.
