The well-oiled Virginia offense that sat near the top of the national rankings in many key metrics after its first five games needed some maintenance this week after sputtering in a 16-9 home loss to Wake Forest last Saturday night.

Missing quarterback Chandler Morris for more than a half after his second-quarter injury certainly didn’t help. But blocks weren’t as sound, routes weren’t as crisp and runs weren’t as punishing as they were earlier in the season.
