KITTERY - A man from New York is recovering after falling from the roof of a moving bus that was on the Maine Turnpike.
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the incident happened a little before 11:30 this morning near mile marker 2 southbound in Kittery.
Moss says when troopers arrived they found motorists and passengers from the Concord Coach Lines bus providing aid to the man.
According to Moss, 35-year old Derrick McDuffy was transported to the hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported that McDuffy stated he was feeling overheated and opened the bus's emergency roof access hatch before climbing onto the roof while the bus was in motion.
