NOTA outpolls 11 candidates across Budgam, Nagrota
BUDGAM: Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, on Friday achieved a historic victory in the Budgam Assembly constituency, marking the first time the PDP has won this seat and ending the long-standing dominance of the National Conference (NC) in central Kashmir.
Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi secured 21,576 votes, defeating the NC candidate, Aga Syed Mahmood Al-Mosavi, who received 17,098 votes, by a margin of 4,478 votes.
Other candidates’ performance included independent Jibran Dar with 7,152 votes, Nazir Ahmad Khan (3,089), and MuntazirMohi-Ud-din (3,030). BJP’s Aga Syed MohsinMosavi polled 2,619 votes, while independent Mohammad Sameer Bhat received 2,534 votes.
