The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, cofounded by legendary Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson, will open on September 22, 2026, the museum confirmed in an announcement this week, sharing more details on its collection.

Embodying a futuristic, spaceship-like structure, the museum was designed by MAD Architects founder Ma Yansong, with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA and Stantec as the executive architect. It sits on an 11-acre campus in Los Angeles' Exposition Park, featuring new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building that includes galleries, two theaters, a library, a restaurant, café, retail store and community spaces, according to the museum.
