OAK HARBOR, Ohio — Nearly eight weeks after the bodies of two people were found in a crashed car in Salem Township, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office announced the results of its investigation.
In late September, the sheriff’s office announced that the deaths of Alexis R. Pence, 24, and Malachi A. Moreno, 23, both of Fremont, who were found in their car on Sept. 20, was a murder-suicide. At the time, however, authorities declined to identify who had shot whom, citing the need for further investigation.
Just after 6:40 p.m. on Sept. 20, 911 received several calls reporting a single-vehicle crash in the 10000 block of Oak Harbor Southeast Road in Salem Township, the sheriff’s office said.
Responding deputies found a car with heavy damage and Ms. Pence and Mr. Moreno unresponsive inside t
