RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - The mayor of Rutherford County shared an update Friday that he is on the mend after a horse accident earlier this week.
Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr was hospitalized at Vanderbilt Emergency Medical Center with nine broken ribs, a lacerated liver and a semi-collapsed lung as a result of the incident.
In a video posted to Facebook , Carr said he expects to go home Friday.
“The pain is pretty significant, as much as I’ve ever had to deal with, but we’re progressing nicely and I fully expect that I’ll be discharged later today,” he said in the selfie video posted Friday morning.
